The "Dreamer" EP Release Party

I celebrated the premiere of my debut “Dreamer” EP on December 6, 2015. The party was online, directly on Facebook. It all started with just a few posts – and then my newsfeed virtually *exploded* with love, laughter, and support. Thank you to everyone who shared these moments with me! I tried to capture the feeling of the party below – feel free to watch, listen, read, and enjoy!
Or simply skim through the highlights:

It all began with the album trailer.

And here were some of the reactions:

Next: I announced the winner of the Door Prize!

Anyone who liked or commented on my posts was entered into the raffle! The Prize? A song!
And not just any song.
Doors symbolize a transition from the old to the new – so I thought it would be fitting to give away a song written by my old band as a sign of leaving the old and starting the new. Although each of us from rubyrough has decided to go our own separate ways, I still love the music we made together! The door prize winner received a copy of one of my favorite rubyrough songs:

Magnet from our EP, SIREN

This is what people had to say about my alter ego:

Then we got artsy with the “cover reveal” and “making of the album art” videos!

Our next highlight was the “St. Nick” prize!

Because I was celebrating from Germany, where they happened to be celebrating Nikolaustag (St. Nicholas Day), I thought I’d follow the German tradition. When in Rome…
For those who don’t know, St. Nicholas was a rich orphan who spent his life being charitable. According to legend, he once heard that three sisters from a poor family were going to be sold into slavery because they had no money for dowries – so one night, he threw three bags of gold through the window for them. In honor of this generous man, I gave away a song I wrote together with Axel Kowollik: “Daydream”

Axel’s bass-playing is featured in the song “Dream On” on the Dreamer EP – but this song was actually our first collaboration and can be found on his album “Out on the Perimeter“.

And, fitting for a true rock star like Axel, here were some of the reactions:

Now it was time for the best part: The music!

Fans were invited to stream the whole album on Spotify, Deezer, or their preferred streaming service or purchase the album from bandcamp, cdbaby, itunes, amazon, google play, and other online stores.

After so much time in the studio, it was great to see what happened when the songs made their way into the world:

After everyone had a chance to listen to the songs, I asked them which one they thought would be the best single. The most surprising for me: That the European Party and the US Party had quite different results!

These songs are like babies to me, so it’s impossible for me to play favorites – and I was glad to see that I’m not the only one who has a hard time!

Everyone who voted was entered to win the “Honorary Record Executive Prize”:
My very first single, The Truth
Also available on bandcamp, cdbaby, iTunes, amazon, google play, and other online stores.

By now, I was permanently blushing from all of the comments:

And then it was time for the Grand Prize Giveaway:

One winner from each party won a hand-drawn CD and a handmade necklace from my “Music to my Ears” jewelry collection!

The best part of the party was not just that I got to spend time with my fans – they also got to “meet” and spend time with each other!
